I believe that everything in life happens for a reason…

My journey began on 25 February 2012, with an unexpected stroke on a business trip to the US.

It was the catalyst that gave me back my life.  You see up until that moment I had not really given much thought to how I was spending my time and living my life.

I am Abigail Barnes, and this life changing event led me to reassess my career choices and the life path that I had been following.

Suddenly my priorities changed I realised that I wanted to spend more time doing what I love with the people that I love.

Then hearing the quote by Oscar Wilde that  ‘No man is rich enough to buy back his past’ really summed up for me how valuable and precious our time truly is.

From then on I immersed myself in the entrepreneur world and saw that there were two types of entrepreneurs, those who were overwhelmed and time poor, and those who were successfully managing their time, and getting the freedom that they wanted from their life.

Having identified some of the top strategies for effective Time Management employed by successful Entrepreneurs I was motivated to summaries this valuable information into my first book that I called Time Management for Entrepreneurs.

If an important part of your business is to select and deliver projects (and possibly programmes), but you are not doing this effectively, then I can help.

I have a very good track record of implementing simple frameworks (of processes, tools and templates) into small and large businesses across many industries, which greatly improve value from investments.

It is much better to do ‘simple’ well, than attempt ‘complex’ and fail; Simple for Success.

Hi, I am an indie writer of Dark Comedy. Had a few things on TV (that’s me showing off) but now concentrating on novels.

My first, BARNACLE BRAT (a dark comedy for grown-ups) has been described as a modern-day Billy Liar … meets Donnie Darko; a tale of alienation, loss, and what can happen when a young man’s imagination spins wildly out of control.

Currently deep into book 2: STANLEY McCLOUD MUST DIE! – and yes, it’s another dark comedy!

Angela Goodnight

Angela Goodnight is a pseudonym. While she is not embarrassed about her writing, the fact that it is true erotica would shock her ninety-year-old mother and the family of her husband so it was decided to write incognito.

Angela’s stories are all true. Born in 1950, she had a teenage love affair and her parents separated her from her boyfriend and, unbeknown to her, kept his letters from reaching her and didn’t post her letters to him. They both imagined the other was trying to have a clean break.

Forty-five years later he found her through facebook and they are now married.

During the interregnum they both had many sexual relationships and decided to write about them. In a sense this was Fifty Shades Of Grey, but true and, often, truth can be more interesting than fiction.

Angela now has many books in print and as ebooks, but continues to seek out a publisher for the series.

Angela’s stories are also available on their websites AngelaGoodnight.com and True-Storytime.com

Alex Forster

Hi, my name is Alex Forster and I write legal thrillers (who said the law was boring). By day I work full time as a Learning and Development Manager for a global law firm. My passion and my profession is developing people to reach their full potential. It is fair to say that I love the law! Think about it for a moment – everything in life, and I do mean everything, involves the law. From getting married, buying a house, raising kids, getting a job, retirement – you name it and the law will be somewhere in the background.

Working with lawyers is akin to watching a grand soap opera. Contrary to the stereotypical view of lawyers, they are interesting people. Of course working in a mega law firm provides a fascinating insight as to how lawyers think and behave in the real world. Whether it is a high octane litigious court case with millions at stake, a bet-the-farm corporate merger and acquisition, drafting complex cross-border tax treaties, dealing with difficult and challenging clients or simply pitching for work against other global law firms; the pace and energy is contagious.

My books are set in the fictitious global law firm of Knight, Blackmore & Emmerington (KBE). Each book is written as a stand-alone novel, so you can read them in any order you wish. I have tried to ensure that the setting and the plot is as real as it gets so that you get a real feel for what its like working in a law firm. You gotta love the law….

Author Image

Alexander Tetenta

Alexander Tetenta has been on some sort of journey of self-discovery for which the lessons of yesterday have really prepared him for the “Blessings of Tomorrow”, hence the sub-title of this book.  An inspiring story of how an obstacle can become a stepping stone, rather than a stumbling block; taking readers from adventure through to contemporary politics and courtroom drama, whilst exploring themes like love, discrimination, and injustice, amongst others.

Alexander Tetenta

On that KLM flight to London, Alex did not envisage the things he would have to endure in order to get to his fortune. The challenges he faced so far in the U.K ranged from questions about identity and race. For the first time, he realised how the color of his skin and the mention of his Nigerian heritage affected how he was perceived by non-Nigerians, as well as his survival as a student, and in the work place and how he perceived life outside of Nigeria.

Alan Reynolds

Based in Yorkshire, Alan Reynolds’ interest in writing came later in life following a successful career in Banking.

Setting up his own consultancy business in 2002, he has successfully managed HR and Training projects across a wide range of businesses and organisations both in the UK and internationally. This experience has led to an interest in psychology and human behaviour through watching interactions and studying responses. Leadership has also featured strongly in his training portfolios and the knowledge gained has helped build the strong characters in all his books.

He took up writing as a hobby and completed his first novel, ‘Flying with Kites’ in just three weeks in early 2010 and it immediately attracted a cult following on the ‘Authonomy’ website with some acclaim – one reviewer called it ‘an important story that needs telling’.

He has now completed eight thrillers. His work subsequently attracted the interest of Fisher King Publishers who launched ‘Flying with Kites’ in September 2011 initially as an e-book but following initial demand in paperback.

The response from readers has been incredible with over 30 five star reviews; it is also attracting interest from film producers.

His second novel Taskers End was published in Dec 2012 and has continued to attract 5* reviews. His third, ‘Breaking the Bank’ in April 2013. Then came ‘The Sixth Pillar in 2014 and most recently The Tinker, which was described by one reviewer as ‘literary magic’.

Alan Reynolds has been a regular at book clubs throughout Yorkshire and the north. He is available for book signings and talks about his work and writing in general.

Bart Cline

I was born in California, USA, but having lived in Britain for over twenty years I am now writing on a very British topic: the Monarchy.
Even before I ever came to Britain, the whole notion of Kings and Queens and Royalty had a massive appeal for me. I often speculated what Britain would be like if its Royalty actually ruled it today, as they did long ago, instead of being today’s mere figureheads. If you've ever wondered that yourself, read SEND HIM VICTORIOUS (free on Wattpad), and find out.
Or if you prefer science-fiction, try MONSTER SCHOOL (also on Wattpad). What happens when a sampling of children from around the world are abducted by aliens and taken to live on another world? Think Lord of the Flies in space and you begin to get the idea. It's aimed at teens and pre-teens.
Lastly, my multi-genre-spanning thriller, COPOUT (available in print and on Kindle) is a story about a police detective who puts together clues and gains insights to the crime he investigates in his sleep – and his dreams are fully-formed stories of their own, each allowing the detective to see his life through another lens. Gripping real-world action and varied fantasy makes for an experience you won’t soon forget!

  Girl Rocks Universe Saga

I usually live by a saying, ‘To write or not to write, that is the question’. Actually that is not the case, it usually is ‘To eat, or not to eat’.

I am a writer, storyteller, and a Jane Austen Enthusiast. The reason that I began the ‘Girl Rocks Universe’ Saga is because I wanted to help Young Adult females gather an appreciation for Jane Austen. I’ve realized that while many teenagers are exposed to her novels at a young age, they don’t enjoy it or see how her writing connects back to them. Therefore, I began this saga in hopes of showing teenagers how Jane Austen’s novel ‘Pride and Prejudice’ can relate to their lives.

Interestingly enough, the saga grew even larger than I expected. While any who wants to read each book can do so, I wrote each book as a modern take on a characters perspective. The first book ‘Girl Rocks Universe’ follows Issy Bennet (a modern take on Elizabeth Bennet). The second book centers around Katie Bennet, who is Kitty Bennet, the third focuses on Melinda who is Mary Bennet, etc. Each book, while figuring into the saga as a whole, can all be read individually without reading the ones before or after the books in the saga. Also, the age range changes from book to book.

Also, the books in the series eventually began to focus not only on modern takes of Pride and Prejudice characters, but also their descendants and ancestors.  Volume 10, ‘Girl Runs Oblivion’, is set in the 24th century, and follows Sonia Darcy, the great etc. granddaughter of Mr. Darcy, for those readers who love a good science fiction story with a little bit of romance.  Then volume 12, ‘Girl Changes Fate’, follows Mr. Darcy’s ancestor in ancient times, Merrwin, for those readers who love fantasy, and would enjoy a female oriented epic that’s in the style of Lord of the Rings.

Then the ‘Girl Finds Eternity’ Series is a Regency Romance of a Pride and Prejudice Variation for any lovers of the original classic, where you get to have a longer journey where the characters you all love also meet other characters from Jane Austen’s other novels.

Lastly, I also wrote a Christmas novel that is a prequel to Dicken’s novel, ‘A Christmas Carol’ because I very much love Dickens classic so much and I always thought that there was more to write on it. As a result, I feel as if there is something for everyone, from teen fiction, to adult fiction and Christmas novella. Therefore, stop, take a look and I hope you find something that you can enjoy.

A vampire novel for grown ups.’ One reader has reviewed it as ‘a surprisingly human vampire novel.’ Another as ‘Very Wow’.

I have always been a fan of children, curiosity and imagination. After a personal loss I left the advertising business behind to care for my grand babies in Nevada. As I have done with my daughter Kaitlin, my niece and nephews I read to them often. I love to see their reactions as the characters come to life. I also believe that a love of reading is more nurture than nature. Something happened when having a new audience to read to – my childlike wonder and curiosity was ignited again. It seemed only natural to pursue the life-long passion of writing children’s books.

With my grand babies and my lovable Basset Hound as muses what better time to start. I also believe that my Basset Hound ‘Silly Willy Winston’ provided the ideal character to promote self-awareness, self-acceptance, love and friendship while also kindling curiosity for all the world’s amazing creatures, places, cultures and mysteries.

The first in the series, The Wacky World of Silly Willy Winston – an ordinary pet with extraordinary adventures became available on Amazon.com on 7.18.15. This book introduces young readers to Silly Willy Winston, a steadfast friend and unlikely hero. His unique traits – the biggest ears ever and a super large snout – seem awkward at times. However, through self-acceptance he learns they are just what is needed to take friends on a journey of self-discovery, help them face fears, embrace new experiences and learn about the world and all the creatures that inhabit it.

Future books in the series focus on Silly Willy Winston as he uses the biggest ears ever and a super large snout to take on a number of secret identities. Each of these identities uses his super powers to take his friends on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance while facing new challenges, solving nature’s mysteries, exploring new lands and navigating the open seas. These secret identities include Super Snout, Inspector Snout, Explorer Snout and Pirate Snout.

A goal for the future is to have the ‘Silly Willy Winston Children’s Book Series’ give back some of what it has given me by donating books to children who cannot afford them. Exploration into this market has let me to discover so many worthwhile organizations that make a difference in this area.

Deborah Tipp

My name is Debbie Tipp (nee Hill), (nee Curtis). An avid collection of surnames but not nearly as impressive as my collection of fridge magnets. Although to be fair Tipp isn’t in my top ten of choice surnames but Bowie, Connery and Jackman weren’t readily available.

Anyway, I was born, and lived, in Kent until I was 8, and then moved to Bournemouth where I was educated and later discovered boys and Martini.

I then followed my mum to Devon where I got my first job – the Government’s YTS programme at a sub Post Office in Paignton, earning a giddy £27.50 per week. Ahh, those extravagant and frivolous days… Just as well my favourite crisps (Football Crazies) were only 5p a packet!

It was in Devon where I met my first husband who gave me my most treasured gifts – my two boys. We enjoyed three years living in Cyprus – a very different way of life; relaxed and hot, earthquakes and extremely cheap grapefruits.

After separating from my first husband I took out some ‘alone time’ which mostly involved a lot of wine, (I’d moved on from Martini), eighties clubbing and a lot of reinventing myself.

I went back to work, met my current husband, (no plans to trade, despite the surname), and live across the road from The New Forrest, in Southampton.

I work full time as an Admin manager and I have to say that supervising 6 adults is harder than bringing up kids!

I long to write for a living, get a dog and have enough time to bake pies.

So that’s me, in a nutshell … a somewhat condensed nutshell – the pistachio version as opposed to the walnut version.

Wrong Place Wrong Time is my first book and was encouraged by my family and friend/editor to put pen to paper/fingers to laptop and write.

It is based on events that happened in the early 90’s when I visited Marbella, Spain where my dream holiday turned into the biggest nightmare of my life.

I am delighted to share that the book had become a #1 Best Seller in TRUE CRIME on Amazon in US, along with #2 in True Accounts in Japan and Australia, #1 in Factual in Spain and top #10 in UK. I am also amazed at the number of reviews, over 400 with over 275 x 5* so far! Thank you readers.

My second book is called MY WAY, its about how I have marketed Wrong Place Wrong Time, firstly because I was told I should and secondly to give new authors, like myself some tips.

My Way has received over 80 x 4/5* reviews from self-publishing authors from around the world.

I am delighted to share that the book had become a #1 Best Seller in TRUE CRIME on Amazon in US, along with #2 in True Accounts in Japan and Australia, #1 in Factual in Spain and top #10 in UK. I am also amazed at the number of reviews, over 400 with over 276 x 5* so far! Thank you readers.

My second book is called MY WAY, its about how I have marketed Wrong Place Wrong Time, firstly because I was told I should and secondly to give new authors, like myself some tips.

My Way has received over 80 x 4/5* reviews from self-publishing authors from around the world.

My third book is called FIVE WEEKS, about one man’s disturbing trip to America, where he was nearly left for dead in a remote Pennsylvania forest.

My hands are into everything that involves Books. Editing, Writing, Graphics, Marketing… I love making beautiful books, worthy of reading – and websites too. I offer so many services for self published authors that I’ve decided to call myself The Book Khaleesi. It’s shorter… and I’m a Game of Thrones fan. The Mother of Books, The First of My Name… Yeah, it’s cool. I started out as a blogger and freelance writer. Used to be a suit before I left my day job to freelance full time… and now, I’m living my dream.

Writing, to me, is an opportunity to talk about the important things. I have a tendency to write about topics that people are uncomfortable discussing in public, ummm… even in private. I like naming the elephant in the room. People may not like the truth, but that’s just the way it is. It won’t change unless you do something different, and not unless you look at it straight in the face and say, “Hey, I know you.”

I write about stuff like that. Not to whine and gripe or lecture, but to drop crumbs on the trail. If it helps someone find their way, if it makes a difference to just one life, it’ll all be worth it.

I love the written word. They’re like pearls of wisdom, passed on from person to person. Secrets that are handed down so that the wisdom may live forever. That is our immortality. That is what I’d like to leave behind. A legacy of words… of stories.

Offline, I’m happily married to my dream boy. Love the ocean, snorkeling, reading, TV series marathons, movies and traveling. Although, I’d be perfectly happy just staying at home and reading a book.

Check out my books! The 2nd book of the Now What? Series will be released this June. If you’re interested in starting a career as an online freelancer, watch out for it.

I love rhyming poetry. It’s the best way to express emotions. When I decided to self publish, I thought it was only fitting that I start out with this collection. I wrote it 20 years ago, and I lost the manuscript and it only resurfaced after 16 years. You have no idea how weird it was to read the words of your younger self. I went back in time and relived everything she went through. What’s weirder is that, after almost 20 years, the man I wrote the poems for… is now my husband. It’s my very own fairy tale.

My hands are into everything that involves Books. Editing, Writing, Graphics, Marketing… I love making beautiful books, worthy of reading – and websites too. I’m an award-winning writer. No, I didn’t win the award for writing. I won it for having the best legs at my gym, but we flaunt our achievements whatever they may be. Plus, my mom says my books are better than James Patterson.

I love mysteries! I like reading them, solving them, and as it turns out, I like to write them as well. I currently have seven books in my Alex Harris mystery series available: Armed, Poisoned, Flossed, Mahjonged, Smoked Pickled, and Gunned. I’m currently working on Nailed and that should be out hopefully my Christmas 2015. As you can see, they have fun names, and they’re fun to read. I want to entertain you and along with a good mystery you’ll have a hard time solving, I want you to have a smile on your face, too, so I keep them light with plenty of quirky characters. Alex, my protagonist, is addicted to M&M’s so you might want to grab a bag before you start reading!

I’ve also just released Fried Calamari Looks A Lot Like Onion Rings. It’s my lighthearted memoir about my years living in Belgium. I went to Europe for a one-week vacation and met and fell in love with a local and stayed for 12 years! See, I’m impulsive, too, and that keeps my life interesting. I’m also working on a sequel about moving back to America and re-acclimating, which was harder than I thought it would be!

Besides writing, I also love traveling. I’m a native New Englander and my mysteries combine my love of Europe and New England, with each book having a European connection. I’ve created the fictional town of Indian Cove, but if you look closely, you might recognize it as Milford, Connecticut. I hope you’ll follow the links to buy the books or join me on my author page on Facebook. So happy reading and I would love to hear from you!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatle’s film ‘Help’ and their firs major tour of’ America. What better way to celebrate than to go back to where it all began?

Helen Morris a.k.a Aravelle

Helen Morris is an author of many talents, she laughs in the face of one genre.  That said her heart lies in fantasy writing.  A huge Pratchett and Rankin fan her fantasy has a slightly satirical edge as demonstrated in her first self-published novel ‘The Source of Magic’.  An epic tale of magic, dragons and with even a cameo of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Her second self-published project was her blog that was extremely popular.  We’re all a little voyeuristic it seems.  A testament to what dating and relationships are really like in the world of social media and internet dating.  ‘The Dating Adventures of HDJ’ is an honest reflection and opinion of what dating is like, what women really think and yes that even covers sex.

I don’t believe in genres and I think a novel should be as long as it takes to tell the story. Everything I write starts with ordinary people, but usually something strange happens to them and they have to deal with the consequences. In this new age of Indie Authors we are free to write what we enjoy. If you wish to stay in the comfort zone read ‘Quarter Acre Block’ inspired by my family’s experience as Ten Pound Pommies. If you dare to take a chance, I have just completed my ‘Triangle ‘ of novels, the ‘Brief Encounters Trilogy’ . Set in the early years of this century, three very different narrators tell their part of the story.

Short Stories are the oldest form of literature and we are all brought up on them, from fairy stories to parables from the Bible. Many authors  start their writing career with short stories; one of my tales left Emma’s fate literally up in the air, when I was asked to write what happened to her it became my first novel ‘Brief Encounters of the First Kind’ and eventually a trilogy.

But I enjoy writing short stories as much as novels and they have taken on a life of their own, being published in a variety of places and occasionally winning prizes. I have published two anthologies on Amazon Kindle.

I am inspired by all things creative; moreover literary, but above all historical, and more precisely the wisdom dug from the traditions of ancient Greece, Rome, and other remarkable civilisations which laid the foundations for our modern world. I graduated from Keele University with Classical Studies and History B.A.(hons.), in 2000. I am a strong believer in the Gaia Hypothesis of Professor James Lovelock. I have had many occupations, none of which I have truly loved.I shall release my second work: Fables of Freedom, in early 2014. This is a series of short stories to entertain and inform, they are the basis of my life’s philosophies and interests. They are personal accounts of the years I spent developing as a young man; after discovering to my dismay that my apprenticeship at 17 had me assist in manufacturing components for an unnecessary armament’ industry. I found this to be firmly against all I believed in. It has galvanised a life of political and social interaction, with the desire to learn and to pass on knowledge and wisdom, indeed, now-days, to a youth bedazzled by technology, mind controlling advertising, and undefined politics. Like any new generation you are struggling for acceptance and direction. After these works I shall, happily, concentrate on my life’s ambition of penning dramatic and historical novels.

I’m a 1993 born member of the Greater Toronto Area. Writing wasn’t always my cup of tea, especially because of the negative marks I’d get back from my english teachers while growing up. My love for writing was discovered in 2013; it all happened when I decided to write a random rant on Facebook, and the feedback I got back from my peers were outstanding. It encouraged me to start this blog, and continue to write. As time passed the feedback got better, and it encouraged me to attempt to write a novel. Add that to his fascination with action movies and thriller and suspense novels, and the occasional fantasy, and you end up discovering just how Jason weaves tales that reveal characters who face dark, seemingly insurmountable events or threats…yet there is always one light that helps the characters overcome that darkness. Jason strives to write stories that he hopes can reach the souls of his readers. He is on a writing mission, and whether he makes the best sellers’ list or not doesn’t mean half as much to him as revealing a little light in the darkness, one reader at a time.

I started writing books in about 2013 but could not get past about half way through the book, until I started writing White Ghost and the Poison Arrow. It almost seemed like it was writing its self. Arella was talking to me, telling me what would happen next, and the book was born. I am now in the process of writing book number two (White Ghost and the Red Wolf) which seems to be even easier to write. The characters in these books are talking to me, and it is like they are alive. I hope others will feel the same passion for my books as I do, and love the characters as much as me.

I have idea’s for a lot more books once I have finished with the White Ghost series. These include a Vampire series and also a post apocalyptic zombies book, as well as others still to be decided on. zombies book, as well as others still to be decided on.tic zombies book, as well as others still to be decided on.

Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed as having ‘depression with episodes of mania’. A constant series of mood swings punctuated by severe anxiety meant my life changed for ever. When my father died in 2014 I knew I couldn’t afford to plummet too low for too long. My husband suggested writing as a form of self therapy. Which is how First Family was born.

With its strong themes of redemption contrasted with the ultra violence enacted by the wicked and the “First Family” themselves, and a narrative set many places and eras, from modern Alabama to ancient Palestine, Egypt and Rome, it provides readers with a rich literary tapestry – albeit one stained in blood – with which to slake their cravings. It enthrals with its exploration of evil, its depiction of the battle against demons from without and within, and the sobering costs of atonement amidst unthinkable, nightmarish circumstances.

Lionel Snell

Lionel Snell is among the founding names in chaos magic – though better known as Ramsey Dukes. In 1970 Gerald Yorke (keeper of the Crowley archive) introduced me to the writings of Austin Osman Spare and I wrote “Spare Parts” – an introductory article about his system of magic – that was published in Agape 4 in 1973 together with a facsimile of my copy of “The Anathema of Zos”. This, together with my first published books “SSOTBME – an essay on magic” and “Thundersqueak” played a seminal role in the nascent Chaos current. I am also known for my contribution to cyber magic, having pioneered the “information universe” concept twenty years before The Matrix.  While many magical writers begin by taking you to another world, a world of wonder, I begin our magic quest right here in everyday reality – where it is most needed.

Imagine waiting for your sweetheart to return from an intense war zone for over a year, and planning your future together, only to have him skyjack an airplane and shatter all those plans.  Much has been written about the “wounded warriors” but not enough about the “wounded waiters.”  At the tender age of 22, Mary Stevenson sat in federal court and heard the judge pronounce a 30 year sentence on the man she loved.  Years of more waiting for his release from prison ensued, but that trauma is what pushed her onto her spiritual path to change her life for the better.

Mal Foster

Mal Foster’s new novel ‘Fly Back and Purify’ is a powerful psychological/paranormal drama set in 1994.

Norman Magowan

The lure of the open road is embedded deep within our modern psyche; many dream of setting off with the sun on their back to chase the distant horizon, few dare to venture…  In early 2004 Norman Magowan parted a career in the Space industry and, together with his wife Maggie, dared to chase that horizon when they strapped on a pair of unfeasibly large BMW motorcycles and set off to ride from Chile to Alaska.  Their story, as they say in their Northern Irish homeland, is a cracker!

The two books in the ‘Adventures in Yellow’ series to tell the full story of their Pan-American journey, a 15-month long odyssey through 56,000 kilometres of the hottest, coldest, wettest and driest climates on the planet.  The journey began chasing volcanoes in Chile down to the end of the world, where accident and misfortune dogged the early days of the trip.  These episodes ultimately turned to advantage and triumph and the metronome to a fantastic adventure was set. The duo readily yielded to the torpid tango wonderland that is Argentina, where all sense of time and schedule was quickly abandoned.  Riding across the Altiplano the pace was enlivened by their forced flight from strike-ravaged La Paz. Relief from the madness of Bolivia proved to be short lived when they ran headlong into a real-life lynch-mob up on the shores of Lake Titicaca in Peru.

Surviving South America, their travels continued with a colourful tropical traipse through Central America and México on roads running ever north into the vivid wonderlands of the US National Parks.  The climate chilled again for Canada and the ultimate reach of the journey; the vast wilderness lands of Alaska, where the trip culminated with a 900-mile duel on mud roads up to the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay.

After spending my working life in support of the oil business, I decided that enough  was enough and it was time to take it easy; but having worked on three continents and in more than a dozen countries,  it was not that easy to switch off.

As my ‘life experience cache’ was pretty full and not wishing my brain to turn to trifle, I decided to write.

My first brain child ( oops – sorry,  book) is out there now and I have to say, the writing of it, was great fun. My novel, PICNIC IN IRAQ, tells a tale based on my experiences in Baghdad and although the storyline is indeed fiction, most of the events actually happened. And depending on how it is received, I have a prequel and sequel still tucked away in my trifle-less brain………….

I’ve been writing fiction for longer than I care to remember. In the UK I’m probably best known as a children’s author and the same is true in Germany. In the US of A I made my mark with my thrillers, especially the series featuring Philis, a not wholly admirable hero. ‘Fool’s Mate’ is the ninth of the Philis books.

Rebecca Lombardo

I am forty-two years old and I’ve been happily married for fourteen years.  We do not have children, but we do have five cats that we treat as such.  When I was a child, I somehow knew that I wanted to be a writer.  I had no idea it that I would nearly have to die to get me there.  At nineteen, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and my life became one giant roller coaster ride.  In 2013, when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, I attempted to take my life.  I survived that attempt, and vowed that it would be the last time.  I swore that I would never put myself or my family through that again, and along the way I was going to help people.  I started writing a blog that became very popular, even in other countries.  I knew that I could reach an even larger audience if I turned it into a book, so my husband and I took on the task and were finally successful in finding a publisher that believed in my work as much as I did.  My book was released to Amazon in August of 2015.

Stevenson Mukoro was born in Lewisham, London, on June 26, and grew up in the middle-class suburb of Ughelli. He is the son of Samuel and Rose Mukoro. He has two older siblings Macdonald and Regina and two younger siblings, Tina and Kingsley. From an early age, he wanted to be a professional pilot because he often envisioned the beautiness of the world from the air.

In high school, however, he developed two other passions that would define his life: A chance encounter with Peter O’Donnell and crashing the principal’s car. Crashing the car put paid to a piloting career. A visit to the Library during an Easter vacation in 1999 and meeting the late Mr O’Donnell stirred his interest in writing. That and his brother’s death inspired him to write stories with a host of characters and long tenses.

Stevenson first came to the attention of British readers when he won a two consecutive young poetry awards for excellence. Today he is slowly becoming one of England’s acclaimed vivid adventure writers, he communicates to his readers a deep interest in back stage political theories. Disagreeing with the established order that espionage anecdotes are on a decline, he believes that the spying game has become too established or commercialised to be over and that there is “much more to spying than is normally acknowledged”.

He has degrees in Business Computing and Administration but prefers the task of writing instead of an undemanding business office. After the July 07 bombings in London, Stevenson wrote many articles about war, terrorism, and the clash of democratic western societies with fundamentalist Muslim ones.

A reporter once wrote, “His clarity of vision on the local impact of terrorist threat is alarming“. He adds, “Terrorism is terrible business and at times it could rejuvenate a society, but more often than not, it destroys

Stevenson is avid enthusiast of unknown heroes whose contributions are hidden in the annals of secret documents or power hungry officials. He believes his heroes should have Communion with tea in the morning, shoot the villain in the head during lunch, and still be able to read a bedtime story in the evening to a loved one. Similar views which one of his fictional heroines Susan Dax expresses.

His fictional books are expressively imaginative. Stevenson says, “I’ve always been a big fan of Lara Croft and Modesty Blasé depictions. I figured it was time for a new heroine to take the stage, Take our minds of the near ugliness of the world. Enter Susan Dax, a girl lacking nothing, needing nothing, but doing her utmost to do anything in order to find the truth. Such passion is hard to come by

Tony Flower

My first novel, ‘That Bloody Book’, follows the hapless Joe Stamford as he takes a humorous look back on his 1960’s childhood; through his music fueled, confused adolescence and left wing youthful idealism; to short, clumsy, bitter failed relationships; and eventually, to the joy and pain of love, marriage and fatherhood. Who is the mysterious woman with the UK shaped birthmark on her bum? Who is the unknown scar faced stranger, lurking menacingly in the background? What is the real motive of his nemesis? How does this quiet, unassuming man end up in the midst of the most bizarre escapade imaginable?

My eagerly anticipated second novel, ‘The Girl Downstairs’, follows the misadventures of a seasoned hack, whose characteristic professionalism is called into question when he goes to the rescue of a lady who is screaming in the flat downstairs. The turmoil that follows, as they emerge scared from Amsterdam’s Red Light District, intensifies when he inadvertently knocks off one of the assailants. He enlists the assistance of some reluctant acquaintances and a chase ensues, that features police, angry pimps and an indignant ex-girlfriend. A thrilling tale of love, lust, murder and redemption told with poignancy and humour.
