After spending my working life in support of the oil business, I decided that enough  was enough and it was time to take it easy; but having worked on three continents and in more than a dozen countries,  it was not that easy to switch off.

As my ‘life experience cache’ was pretty full and not wishing my brain to turn to trifle, I decided to write.

My first brain child ( oops – sorry,  book) is out there now and I have to say, the writing of it, was great fun. My novel, PICNIC IN IRAQ, tells a tale based on my experiences in Baghdad and although the storyline is indeed fiction, most of the events actually happened. And depending on how it is received, I have a prequel and sequel still tucked away in my trifle-less brain………….

Philip semi-retired in 2014 and began writing in February 2015, his first novel , PICNIC IN IRAQ  (available on Amazon)  tells a story of a group of close friends who travel the length of Iraq in search of a treasure of unimaginable wealth.
