Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed as having ‘depression with episodes of mania’. A constant series of mood swings punctuated by severe anxiety meant my life changed for ever. When my father died in 2014 I knew I couldn’t afford to plummet too low for too long. My husband suggested writing as a form of self therapy. Which is how First Family was born.
With its strong themes of redemption contrasted with the ultra violence enacted by the wicked and the “First Family” themselves, and a narrative set many places and eras, from modern Alabama to ancient Palestine, Egypt and Rome, it provides readers with a rich literary tapestry – albeit one stained in blood – with which to slake their cravings. It enthrals with its exploration of evil, its depiction of the battle against demons from without and within, and the sobering costs of atonement amidst unthinkable, nightmarish circumstances.

The story starts over two thousand years ago in ancient Palestine. When a Rabbi takes his family to see a fellow Jew minister the scriptures. Becoming part of Jesus flock, the family are there to witness the crucifixion on the hill at Golgotha.
What would you do if your child was murdered?
Forsaking us, God's anger was only the beginning. While the Lord grieved the death of His only Son, demon's spewed forth from Hell indiscriminatingly infecting all in their path. By the time God's attention returned to Earth, evil coursed through the veins of many. Including the Rabbi, his wife and three children.
Standing vigil over Jesus broken body as it drooped forward in death, iron nails tearing through flesh and bone, they were at the forefront of the assault. Returning home one of the Rabbi's twin daughter's rips out the heart of her husband and young child.
Infestation cannot permanently change anything lurking in the depth of a person's soul. Good will always find it's way back, while evil festers and grows. After centuries of taking anything they desired the family realise they despise everything they've become. In the hope of atoning for their sin's they hunt the planets most evil, human or demon, they have no preference. For the daughter, finding her way back comes with a price. The horror of murdering the two she loved most constantly haunts her.
In the first book the family hunt a serial child trafficer.. Evil beyond anything they've encountered, they find him running a child abduction ring. A supermarket for paedophiles to view the goods before investing in their preference.
The hunt becomes personal when the Rabbi discovers the perpetrator is responsible for everything that happened the day that changed their lives for ever.
