ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Irish author, John Anthony Brennan comes from Crossmaglen, a small, tough town in County Armagh, Ireland. A town like Ireland herself, which has endured and survived despite the influence of the invaders’ harsh heel. He left his beloved, sacred green isle many years ago to explore the world, and has been island hopping ever since. He has traveled extensively and has visited many of the sacred sites. He incorporates his experiences in both his prose and poetry as he believes that a common thread connects us all. Some of his writing expresses the spiritual dimension and each piece hopefully contains a lesson coupled with historical facts.
His first book titled, “Don’t Die with Regrets,” written to hopefully inspire others to always follow their dreams, has won the prestigious 2015 “Next Generation Indie Book” award in the Memoir category. His second book of Poetry, titled “The Journey: A Nomad Reflects” is due in late September, 2015.
He is currently compiling a book of tribute poems dedicated to the musicians who, sadly, are no longer with us. Some of whom he met as a younger man living in London in the mid 60’s – mid 70’s.

"Don't Die with Regrets" takes the reader on a spellbinding journey through the mists of time. Starting in Ireland at the end of the last ice-age, the author asks that you accompany him on his journey around the world as he visits the sacred places. Then, through a series of short, anecdotal stories from his childhood and youth, he will regale you with humor, tragedy, hope and the eternal quest for self-realization.
Be prepared for a warm welcome to the world of John A Brennan, an unapologetically enthusiastic Irish raconteur who has found his place in the spoken word scene in and around New York City of late. In his book ‘Don’t Die with Regrets,’ we join the author racing page by prose page through anecdote and apocrypha—poems too—as he invites us to join in his wild embrace of Irish mist-enshrouded historicity.
John Brennan’s collection of stories, “Don’t Die With Regrets: Ireland and the Lessons my Father Taught Me,” takes us on an adventure to the writer’s childhood in the Irish town of Crossmaglen in County Armagh. Framed by the ancient history of the Celts and the indigenous beliefs in Druids and the later history of the protracted war between the Protestants and the Catholics spurred by the colonization of Ireland by the British, the author takes us into his family’s history, which goes back several centuries, focusing on the gifts that his ancestry has offered him. Brennan is the quintessential storyteller, keeping us riveted with the many adventures of his childhood in the Irish countryside.
