Best know for co-writing The Secret Society of Dragon Protectors I am now writing a series of books entitled The Secret Adventures of Rolo about my rescue Jack Russell who discovers the ability to time travel. Rolo pops up during moments in history and actually makes things happen. He also shares his enthusiasm for history and nature as well as writing amusing blogs between chapters about his family life. Book 3 ‘The Dragon’s Pram’ will be out in October 2015 and the books are enjoyed by 6-90 year olds!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Debi’s books have taken her all over the world to talk to children and inspire creative writing. She has spoken at UBUD readers and writers festival, Bali and the first Emirates Airlines Dubai Literature Festival as well as visiting schools all over the UK, Bahrain, UAE, China and Indonesia.
The new series is entitled The Secret Adventures of Rolo and evolved from rescuing a Jack Russell and weaving a story about time travel to include history and nature. The books have educational content and include some topics from the national curriculum. They are written as if by Rolo the dog himself. Brilliantly illustrated by Chantal Bourgonje they are a great read aloud family sharing adventure or a read alone book at bedtime.

In the first book in The Secret Adventures of Rolo series entitled Athelstan and the Time Tunnel, Rolo finds a new home with the smiley lady and the boy with floppy hair. He meets Athelstan, guardian of the time tunnel and is told he is the 'chosen one'. Time travelling adventures in the first book include seeing Vesuvius erupt, delivering a message during the English Civil War, becoming a rescuing dog in the Blitz as well as sharing nature notes and old country sayings in between adventure chapters.
Debi Evans, the author of the time travelling Rolo the terrier books -- and other earlier books -- has such imaginative flare coupled with an easy flowing personable style of writing. These books are a great read for children and adults! Not only do they stimulate reading skills, but the history and clever little anecdotes about the countryside enrich the reader's knowledge as well. The fun layout and charming illustrations compliment the stories. An intangible je ne sais quoi quality about the Rolo books leaves me feeling just a little bit wiser and more positive for having read them and I think, therefore, they must have the same affect on children. Deeper dimensions in the writing than, say, Harry Potter. I would like to see Rolo made into an animated film/films and if Debi keeps going with this series, she may well get a phone call from someone in the film industry one day soon.
