Of the 5 books I have published under my name, 3 of them are associated with the British Resistance of WWII – Three Days, The Pheasant and more recently For the Love of Ann. My first book – The Virgins Wreath is about 18th century smugglers and customs men set in and around the village where I grew up. The last book – The Long Walk Home was taken from accounts that I read in a book given to me one Christmas about the WWII battles in Burma but I took it from the view of a 7 year old boy who, together with his mother and other families, had to flee from the advancing Japanese army into India, some 1,000 miles away.

For the Love of Ann is set in modern times. Jay Maxwell's wife, Ann entered the local hospital but despite Jay telling them about Ann's other problems and of a new drug that would help her nothing was done and she died because the Hospital would not pay out for the drugs. When a child Jay had been walking on the downs with his father when he pointed out a tree. "If you push that in a certain way it opens up and during the war weapons and explosives were stored there." At the time Jay thought it was just a tail and forgot about it but now and after reading a book about the British Resistance in Sussex it said that such arms dumps were out there and because of the secrecy many were not decommissioned at the end of the war. Jay went looking for the entrance and what he found allowed him to take his revenge on those responsible for his beloved Ann's death. Even the SAS couldn't track Jay down.
